WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

Owners or lessees of passenger motor vehicles who are residents of the State of Tennessee and who hold an unrevoked and unexpired official amateur radio license
issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

  • The Application for Special Amateur Radio License Plates must be accompanied by proof of ownership of a amateur radio station license.
  • At the time of renewal, the qualifying applicant will need to show a current, unexpired official amateur radio station license issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)”

NOTES:
• The plate number will consist of the applicant’s call sign up to 6 characters
• If the same applicant wants more than one plate, a number will be added at the end of the applicant’s call sign to complete the plate number

$25 FEE EXEMPTION

All registrants who qualify for this plate are exempt from the $25 fee previously required (Public Chapter 990).  The TNClerk system has been configured to eliminate this fee from all Amateur Radio plate transactions.

PERSONALIZATION:

This plate cannot be personalized.
